Ashton Gibbs has worked out for a slew of teams so far including the Miami Heat, San Antonio Spurs, Los Angeles Clippers and Brooklyn Nets. You can read a bit more about those stories here and here.
Gibbs is now trying out with the Indiana Pacers. On Friday.
The Pacers are bringing in six players for a three-on-three workout and Gibbs is among them, according to SB Nation blog, Indy Cornrows:The Indiana Pacers will have in six more prospects to do the usual 3-on-3 scrimmage and individual testing. This time the Pacers will have Evan Fournier (France), John Jenkins (Vanderbilt), Josh Owens (Stanford), Travis Hyman (Bowie State), Ashton Gibbs (Pittsburgh), and Tony Wroten Jr. (Washington).
We've been over Gibbs' chances to get drafted and while they're slim, this isn't really about that. Gibbs is more than likely trying out to become a free agent signee with the hopes of getting into someone's camp. The good news is that he's tried out for a fair amount of teams and the more eyeballs he has on him, the better his chances at getting onto a summer league team.
