After initially committing to Toledo, a late offer from the Panthers not only got him to de-commit from the Rockets, but then ultimately got McDonald (PA.) WR Zach Challingsworth to commit to Paul Chryst and Pitt.
It is clear that Challingsworth was waiting for Pitt to offer, but after coming to campus a few times and leaving without an offer, the South Fayette WR got disappointed and decided to commit elsewhere. When Pitt finally pulled the trigger and offered, that was all it took to secure Challingsworth's commitment.
Challingsworth was one of the more productive receivers in the WPIAL last season, catching 48 balls for 800 yards and 12 TDs. He also doubled as a defensive back where he intercepted 6 passes.
He was given 2 stars by Rivals and Scout while not being rated by ESPN. His other offers included Toledo, Ohio, Buffalo, and Akron while receiving interest from UConn, Maryland, and West Virginia. Welcome to Pitt, Zach Challingsworth!
