Pitt recruit James Robinson is having a good experience thus far in the FIBA Americas preliminary play with the USA Under 18/U18 team. The team is off to a 2-0 start and Robinson is doing his part to contribute.

Of particular note, Robinson has led the team in assists each game and his total of nine also leads the team.

In the first game, Team USA crushed the Virgin Islands, 105-42. Robinson had a modest two points and one rebound, but also had five assists without a single turnover.

The second game was another cakewalk for Team USA, beating down Mexico 110-59. Robinson again was dishing out the ball with four assists to only one turnover. He added five points, three steals, and two rebounds.

Robinson clearly hasn't scored a ton of points, but the team has plenty of firepower and he hasn't needed to. He's not known as a big time scorer, so fans hoping for that when he gets here will probably be disappointed. But by all indications, he runs offenses well and is more in the mold of a Levance Fields ... obviously a pretty good player.
