Per Paul Zeise over at the Post Gazette, Clairton defensive back Titus Howard committed to Pitt on Sunday. He is the 8th recruit for the 2013 class. Howard is rated 2 stars by Rivals, 3 stars by Scout, and unrated by ESPN. His offer sheet includes UConn, Toledo, and Arkansas State.
As far as prospects goes, Howard is a solid BCS level recruit. He has good size that can help him defend against bigger receivers through his physical style of play, as seen in his highlight clip. His commitment could also certainly help Pitt land Howard's teammate Tyler Boyd, one of the top wide receivers in this year's class. Boyd recently listed West Virginia as his leader with Pitt trailing them and Ohio State.
Welcome to Pitt, Titus Howard!
