Savon Goodman's been on Pitt's radar for quite a while now, but there's word now that he may be leaning towards UNLV and SMU.

ZagsBlog says those two schools may be the favorites:

This late in the game he could commit at any time," Philly Constitution coach Rob Moore told SNY.tv. "Looks like SMU and UNLV are leading the pack. He loved [SMU] coach [Larry] Brown."

To the best of my knowledge, Goodman is still technically a 2012 recruit, though we discussed the strong possibility he could move to 2013. If it's 2012 for Goodman, Pitt really may be falling away from the back. It's already June and allowing him to come in would mean moving someone out of the program at the last minute.

I really am not a fan of nudging players out and in this case where it's practically summer, I'm extremely against it.

The bigger story in all of this is, of course, Khem Birch. Birch left Pitt to head to UNLV and with some other players, including prep star, Anthony Bennett, could be helping to build quite a team. Be assured that Birch is doing whatever he can to get Goodman out there. Problem for Pitt is that he just might be successful.
