Former Pitt center Aaron Gray tested the waters of free agency a bit, but in the end, he appears headed back to the Toronto Raptors.
After a one-year deal in Toronto, Gray was on the market. That looks short-lived, though, as he's reportedly re-signing with the Raptors.About a month ago, I wondered if Gray would be back due to the somewhat crowded frontcourt in Toronto. Part of the context of that was that the Raptors could have potentially drafted a big man, but in picking up a shooting guard and two small forwards, Gray's services were again needed.
I won't rehash Gray's numbers again since I just did it in that last article. But he's again proof that if you're a competent seven-footer, there's room for you in the NBA. Chances are that he probably won't become a full-time starter, but as a solid rebounder, he can play a role that keeps around for a long career.
