Former Pitt star Darrelle Revis suffered a concussion in the Jets' game last weekend against the Buffalo Bills. Besides the fact that Revis is a former Panther, he was set to play back here in Pittsburgh this weekend.
But that won't be happening since he's been ruled out.
Coach Rex Ryan didn't have much to offer up after it happened:"He seems to be feeling good, but whatever those (test) scores are, apparently that's low," Rex Ryan said. "I'll lean on the doctors and trainers. We'll see how he progresses during the week."
His teammates also know they're obviously a better team with him:
"You can't lose a player like Darrelle and say you're not going to suffer a dropoff in production," linebacker Aaron Maybin said. "He's the best cornerback in the league. But as far as people stepping in to get the job done, we're very confident in their ability."
But when it comes down to it, Revis won't play according to ESPN.
Steelers fans are probably a bit torn on this one, but I'm sure most of them would rather him sit this one out. Either way, if you're a Pitt fan going to the game, it would be nice to see him in action, but that won't happen.
