Dorian Johnson Says Pitt Is His Favorite "Right Now"

Great news from Ken Gorman today, who talked to Belle Vernon offensive tackle and is reporting that Johnson is leaning toward the Panthers.

(More after the jump)

From Gorman:

Johnson says Pitt is his favorite "right now," thanks in part to his relationship with offensive coordinator Joe Rudolph and the lack of depth on the offensive line.

"I’d like to play early, if I could," Johnson said. "I’d like to play as soon as possible."

Silver-lining on that bad offensive line cloud! With Pitt's lack of depth at offensive tackle - particularly lack of underclassman depth - Johnson is almost assured of a spot on the depth chart immediately.

Johnson also discussed his desire to take three official visits - Pitt, Ohio State and Virginia Tech - and that he won't decide until after the season, but before the Under Armor All-American game in January. So we're looking at a November/December announcement.
