Paul Chryst spoke with the media one last time on Thursday and updated the injury list, with Aaron Donald questionable for the game on Saturday against Gardner-Webb due to a knee injury.
This doesn't rule him out for the rest of the season, mind you, but it will be something to watch going into the next two weeks. Pitt does benefit from having a bye week after Saturday's game, so it will give Donald some time to heal. And no offense to Gardner-Webb, but Pitt shouldn't need Donald to beat the Runnin' Bulldogs, especially after the outstanding play the defense got against Virginia Tech last week. Darryl Render will likely be the starter if Donald is ruled out for Saturday.
Another Panther likely to miss the next game is starting tight end Hubie Graham, who missed last week's game after sustaining a clavicle injury against Cincinnati. In his place will be Drew Carswell, who caught 2 passes for 27 yards against the Hokies. Also listed was linebacker Todd Thomas, who hasn't played yet this season, but did get on to the practice field last week and is questionable for the game on Saturday
