Pitt vs. Providence: Open Gamethread

Charles LeClaire-USA TODAY Sports

Pitt heads on the road again to take on Providence tonight. If you're looking for a massive buzzkill, it'd be a loss tonight. Pitt looks like they're getting better with a couple of Big East wins against Villanova and UConn last week. Losing to the Friars would be a momentum killer to say the least.

Putting it nicely, Providence ain't real good. Their best win of the season was probably a road victory at Seton Hall. They've lost to teams such as Penn State, DePaul, and Brown. The best thing they've done was probably in playing Syracuse close losing by only six.

Simply put, if Pitt wants to get into the NCAAs, losing games like this one aren't the way to do it. As i wrote over the weekend, Pitt absolutely cannot afford a letdown. If Pitt manages to show up and play any semblance of actual basketball, they should leave with a win.

Oh yeah - and never forget.
