After two wins last week against Villanova and UConn, expecting Pitt to be ranked would be foolish. But, for what it's worth, the Panthers did pick up a handful of votes when the new polls were released on Monday.
In the AP, Pitt had only a sole vote, putting them in a tie for 38th place. But in the USA Today coaches poll, the Panthers finished a bit higher as they ended up with a total of five points, ranking them at 33rd overall. Despite the two wins, though, Pitt actually slipped a bit in the AP poll - the previous week they had two points as opposed to the single one they got this week.
Big East teams ranked included Syracuse and Louisville in the top five, as well as Cincinnati and Notre Dame. And in case you've not yet seen them, you can view the entire top 25 from both polls here.
