Paul Chryst received a verbal commitment from Philadelphia Defensive End, Justin Moody on Tuesday afternoon. Moody is a 6-3 264-pound defensive end out of George Washington High. He is rated as a three star by Rivals, Scout, and ESPN. Rivals lists Moody as the 19th ranked player in Pennsylvania. ESPN lists his weight a bit more, and scout ranks him as a defensive tackle, so his position will likely be decided once he gets to Pitt.
Moody becomes the 23rd player to commit to the Panthers for the 2013 recruiting class, and the 13th player from Pennsylvania to make the call. Moody picked the Panthers over the likes of Rutgers, Purdue, Temple, and Syracuse. Moody enters the class as the fifth defensive line prospect.
Paul Chryst can still add six more players to this recruiting class, because of four players enrolling early. Pitt appears to be in good shape with defensive linemen in this class, and the focus should shift elsewhere. As always, we are glad to have another recruit. Welcome aboard, Justin. Hail to Pitt!
