Well, the scheduling gods have done it again. They will give Panther fans another chance this weekend to watch Pitt and then scout out next week's opponent at a different time. Before the Panthers travel to upstate New York to take on Syracuse next week, the Orange will face their toughest game of the year later on this afternoon. The Orange will be on ESPN2 (or ABC in some areas) when they head on the road to take on number two ranked Florida State.
The Seminoles will try and hold onto their second spot in the BCS rankings when Syracuse invades Tallahassee for a 3:30PM kickoff. As with a lot of weekends, Panther fans can head right down the street to a watering hole next to Heinz Field to check out the game as soon as they are done tangling with the Tar Heels today. For one of the few times this year, it will be a familiar sight to Pitt fans since the Orange were Big East brothers for a lot of years before starting their first year in the ACC with the Panthers this season.
Syracuse enters the contest with a 5-4 record and will be looking to build on two straight ACC wins. First year coach, Scott Shafer, will look for his first big win at Bobby Bowden Field at Doak Campbell Stadium and he will need to pull of a perfect game in order to do so. Will Syracuse host Pitt with a .500 mark like most expect, or will they be riding high after a huge upset that would shake the college football world? Tune in on Saturday and find out.
