Doctor Robert: Pitt - Notre Dame Injury Report

With Pitt's big game against Notre Dame coming up, here's a quick look at the injury report, courtesy of Doctor Robert, of course.

The big news last week was the offensive line being banged up. Pitt was without two of their five starters, Adam Bisnowaty and Cory King, on the line due to back injuries and, well, it showed. True freshman Dorian Johnson got the start in place of Biz and Ryan Schlieper jumped in for King and the line had a horrible day. One interesting note was that a lot of us wondered why Juantez Hollins didn't get to play but head coach Paul Chryst indicated in his press conference that he was banged up, too. Ugh.

We can probably expect Bisnowaty to suit up since he played some snaps against the Yellow Jackets. King, though, has been out and there's no telling if he'll be back. Chryst thought he would do more in practice this week but didn't go beyond that.

Chryst also indicated in that presser that K'Waun Williams bruised his arm at some point but thought he would be okay.

Obviously, the line is the focus here. If Pitt is going to pull of the upset of Notre Dame, protecting quarterback Tom Savage is a must. And the fact is that, even though the line has been nothing special all season, there's a much better chance of doing that with the starters in there and healthy.

And as if all of that weren't enough, starting middle linebacker Shane Gordon didn't play last week, either. Hopefully Pitt gets him back this week as well.
