In case you missed it, Pitt's recent winning streak hasn't gone unnoticed by Joe Lunardi of ESPN Bracketology fame. Lunardi has the Panthers as a No. 5 seed in his latest Bracketology rankings.
Even though that's not a bad place to be, Pitt could probably stand to be a spot higher in my opinion. Winning seven out of their past eight games, the Panthers are one of the hottest teams in college basketball. That combined with their current spot in the rankings as well as having some quality wins should boost them up a bit. But it's still early and we'll see where they end up.
I was also surprised that Pitt didn't move up in the latest bracket. Lunardi also had them as a No. 5 seed before the road win at Cincinnati.
It's amusing that just a few weeks ago, we were talking about Pitt just getting in. Then came a string of several wins in a row as well as victories over Syracuse and Cincinnati. The Panthers should not only be in, but could be a high seed.
