Definitely should have gotten to this earlier, especially considering the relative glut in Pitt news out there right now. But there's a Naismith Award out there for the best student section in college basketball. Our beloved Pitt is up for it and the Oakland Zoo is really pushing for it. The good news? It's working.
Pitt was in first place last I checked, but by a slim margin, barely leading VCU of all schools. No, I don't get it, either, but I digress. At any rate, Pitt recently trailed them, so it's neck and neck. This is one of those cases where your vote really will matter.
Here's how you can help - head on over and vote for Pitt. VOTING ENDS TONIGHT at 11:59 p.m., so get those entries in.
At this point, you're asking what's in it for you. Well, there's no money, but on your deathbed...okay, forget it. Fact is, the winning school's scholarship fund picks up $10,000 so there's that - see the page linked above for the official rules if you want. Plus, it's a national campaign and anything to get Pitt in the spotlight just helps the school out.
Just do it. It takes literally a few seconds and you'll help the cause. Hail to Pitt.
