Tray Woodall received a pretty cool honor this week when he was named to the U.S. Basketball Writers Association All District team.
The organization breaks districts down into several states. Pitt falls into District II, which includes Division I teams in Pennsylvania, Washington DC, New York, New Jersey, Delaware, and West Virginia.
As a member of the organization, I got to throw my vote in on the team and for the record, I left Woodall out. Woodall shot extremely well this season - nearly 50%, which for a guard is at the elite level. He helped Pitt to 24 wins in the Big East and was really the team's leader. If that weren't enough, he got extremely hot at the end of the season and played well down the stretch. I've got no problem with him being on the team as he really had an outstanding year.
My team was reasonably close to the selected team. I was really close to putting Saddler and Galloway on. You can see both lists below.
My Ballot:
Michael Carter-Williams - Syracuse
Fuquan Edwin - Seton Hall

D'Angelo Harrison - St. John's
