Pitt's basketball home/away opponents were named on Wednesday. The highlight of the schedule? Clearly it's Duke paying a visit to the Petersen Events Center.
The Panthers won't get the other big gun in the ACC, North Carolina, at home. But Duke, Syracuse, Maryland, and others will ensure it's a decent slate.
Here's the schedule of opponents for 2013-14:
Home: Duke, Syracuse, Maryland, Florida State, North Carolina State, Virginia, Wake Forest, Clemson, and Virginia Tech
Away: North Carolina, Maryland, Syracuse, Notre Dame, Clemson, Boston College, Miami, Georgia Tech, and North Carolina State
Dates, times, and the non-conference schedule will be released later.
We can talk all we want about the bigger football games, but the basketball games are also a huge part of the ACC move. The Big East has traditionally been a gauntlet, so this isn't really about tougher games in my opinion. But playing teams like North Carolina and Duke at the Pete is something that will be pretty special.
If you don't think the Zoo will be out to show the Cameron Crazies what they've got, think again.
