Pitt vs. Clemson: Preview and Open Gamethread

Charles LeClaire-USA TODAY Sports

The deeper into the schedule we get, the more significant the games.

Pitt takes on Clemson tonight in another pretty difficult road matchup. Like pretty much everyone in the ACC this year, the Tigers have had some early stumbles along the way. Losses to Minnesota, UMass, and like half the SEC (Alabama, South Carolina, and Georgia) have showed they're plenty vulnerable. However, the Tigers' wins are more impressive than their losses. Clemson put together an incredible string of five consecutive wins against Florida State, Syracuse, and ranked Louisville, Duke, and Miami teams.

Just as impressive, while the Tigers are a modest 12-7, only two of their losses have come at home. Winning there will be a challenge.

As I've pointed out before, Pitt has an incredibly difficult string of games coming up as they'll face ranked Virginia, Miami, and North Carolina teams over a nine-day stretch in early February. And with games still to come against Louisville, Duke, and at Syracuse, that sort of makes winning as many games like this one as they can a priority.
