Pitt’s men’s soccer team is turning in a strong season with three wins over Top 25 teams and an 8-6 record overall.
If you’ve not been following, one of the most exciting aspects to the team is that most of their offensive production comes from underclassmen. This team is not only very good this season but has the chance to be great for at least the next three years.
Serving as another reminder of just how much quality youth there is on this team is a recent list of the top 100 freshmen in D-I college soccer. Top Drawer Soccer released the list and it includes four Panthers on it:
#7 - Edward Kizza
#34 - Alexander Dexter
#81 - Marcony Pimentel
#92 - Colin Brezniak
Kizza is the gem of the class, obviously, but the Panthers are getting great production beyond him.
Alexander actually leads the team in goals and points with 5/12 with Kizza right behind him with 4/11, respectively. Brezniak is third in both categories with 3/6. Pimentel has only one goal and three points to date but he’s also missed six of the team’s 14 matches.
In other words, the future looks extremely bright for the program.
