Two more recruits for Todd Graham and they're of the defensive variety.
Graham's not just limited to Texas and the midwest. His two latest recruits are from Florida.
Rodrick Ryles (or Roderick, depending on which recruting site you believe) is a safety out of Florida and one of Pitt's latest commits. Ryles is a three-star recruit as rated by both Rivals and Scout. Both sites vary on his offers, but schools such as Michigan, Michigan State, Utah, West Virginia, Arkansas, and South Florida are listed.
Ryles had almost 190 tackles and 14 interceptions in his junior and senior seasons. Rivals ranks him as the nation's 35th best safety.
LaQuentin Smith is a linebacker in the Sunshine State as well. Smith is also rated as at three-star by both sites and Scout ranks him as the 23rd best middle linebacker in the country. The sites also vary on his offers, but schools listed among the two sites include West Virginia, Arkansas, Tennessee, Cincinnati, Michigan, UConn, Purdue, and Illinois among others.
Smith has this to say about his game:
"I’m a good tackler. I’ve been coached well and I have had great teachers. I have good hips and hands.
"I play fierce. When I hit you, you’ll know it.
Over his junior and senior seasons at Dr. Phillips High School, he had about 180 tackles, three interceptions, and four fumble recoveries. He is projected as either a linebacker or safety.
Glad to see Graham stockpiling up some talent in the secondary as Pitt really needs the help.
