On the heels of Brandon Lindsey and Lucas Nix signing deals, a few more Panthers have now found homes. According to reports, Chas Alecxih, Greg Williams, and Max Gruder have all signed with teams following this weekend's NFL Draft.
The Trib's Jerry DiPaola had the news early that the three signed. Alecxih is headed to the Miami Dolphins, Gruder will be going to the Atlanta Falcons, and Williams is going to the Houston Texans.
While Alecxih is no doubt relieved to be headed somewhere, he didn't have a great time watching the draft:
Alecxih said he watched every minute of the draft.
"It was horrible — like the worst experience ever," he said. "But things happen for a reason. I’m going to make the team."
The free agent signings are no guarantee that the players will make the squads, of course. But they'll at least get their shot after going undrafted. All three were solid players in college and I'm not sure which one(s) will have the best chance of sticking. Much of it will come down to depth at their positions on their new teams.
