A few weeks ago, Isaac Bennett got some recognition from ESPN's Andrea Adelson for his big spring. Now, he's also getting some national pub as well.
Adelson put Bennett among her five Big East breakout players, but The National Football Post included him in a list of their five breakout players nationally:Pittsburgh RB Isaac Bennett: While new Pitt head coach Paul Chryst should get a healthy Ray Graham back in the fall, we saw at Wisconsin how he likes to use multiple running backs in his offensive attack. And Bennett gives the Panthers good depth, ripping off several long runs this spring and finishing off the preseason with a nice effort in the team's spring game. He is a bit of a bruiser who rarely goes down after initial contact, and he received game experience last season after Graham went down with injury. His numbers will increase from the 237 yards and two scores he recorded on 58 carries in 2011.
Bennett's role is still anybody's guess. Really, it will come down to Graham's health and effectiveness. If he's as dominant as he was last season, it's hard to envision Bennett sharing time with him on a significant level. How Paul Chryst manages the three-headed monster of running backs is going to be one of the biggest questions come the fall.
