Hail To Links! The "Football Starts This Month" Edition

Hail-to-links_medium

It's officially August, which means that football starts this month! So excited, you guys!

Yesterday, we concentrated on just Pitt and the BIG EAST media day. Today we are back to our normal form of being all over the place. We'll cover NFL trades that were not meant to be, what not to do as a Notre Dame quarterback, fun with animated .gifs, and more...all after the jump.

Sweet Carolina. The trade of former Pitt Panther and current Carolina Panther Jeff Otah to the New York Jets has been cancelled because Otah could not pass the required physical.

Paul Chryst, laid back. ESPN's Ivan Maisel talks about Paul Chryst and how he is fitting into Pittsburgh nicely.

A Notre Dame education doesn't make you any smarter. Notre Dame QB Tommy Rees has been suspended for their season opener in Dublin, Ireland after he kneed a cop and had to be pepper sprayed.

"And you get $80m, and you get $80m..." ESPN will be paying $80m for the rights to the Champions Bowl, the same amount they paid for the Rose Bowl.

WE ARE... TRANSFERRING! Many Penn State players have declared their committment to the school. Several players have now decided to go elsewhere as well. Tim Buckley to NC State, Rob Bolden to LSU, Silas Redd to USC, Kevin Haplea to FSU, Jamal Pollard to Rutgers, and possibly Khairi Fortt to Cal.

Fun with the Olympics. You may have noticed that several events in London have a large number of open seats. The internet decided to fill those seats in animated .gif form.
