When wide receiver Tyler Boyd verbally committed to Pitt a few weeks back, it helped ease what had been a pretty miserable day of football and basketball losses. More importantly, it helped to strengthen the position for the next few years.
As I wrote then, Boyd didn't seem like his decision was completely firm as he still planned on looking around a bit. Well, okay - fine. But then, after a rumored visit to Tennessee, his mom cleared things up on Twitter, reportedly saying he was done with official visits according to this tweet.
All seemed okay again, but then this bombshell came this weekend from Jerry DiPaola of the Trib via Twitter:
I know Pitt fans aren't worried, but Tyler Boyd is making an official visit to WVU today.

Well, alrighty then.
Look, I don't know what all this is about. Pretty sure that either Boyd just loves taking visits for the fun of it or his verbal to Pitt was an extremely soft one. Losing Boyd to any team would hurt, but losing him to the Mountaineers? Yeah - ouch.
Signing day could be very interesting to say the least.
