Tray Woodall named to Bob Cousy Award watch list

Joe Camporeale-US PRESSWIRE

Tray Woodall was named to the Bob Cousy Award watch list for 2012-13 last week. Before you get too excited, just know that this is the first stage of the award and there are more than 70 players on the full list (which can be found here, by the way).

Pitt would really need to have an unbelievable year for Woodall to get any serious consideration for even becoming a finalist, but he certainly belongs on the list at this stage in the game. He's arguably Pitt's best player (though a great case can be made for Talib Zanna as well) and playing very well.

That's evidenced by the drastic improvement in his shooting - he's now hitting over 51% of his shots, more than an 8% improvement from last season. He's also turning the ball over less, averaging only two per game contrasted with his nearly six assists per contest.
