Pitt hopes to continue their recent winning streak today against Cincinnati. I don't know - going to be a tough one on the road. But the Panthers are playing better since they saw the Bearcats earlier this season and it's a winnable game.
One thing Pitt has now that they didn't have the first time around is an increased offensive presence from Steven Adams. Adams didn't even attempt a field goal in that first game and you can bet that's on his mind and on the mind of Jamie Dixon. I expect him to get involved early and at least make an effort to be more aggressive offensively. He had nine rebounds in that first game, but the Panthers need him to produce something on offense, too.
The good news? He's been doing just that. He's had at least eight points in the past five games in addition to his excellent rebounding and shotblocking.
I'm not saying Adams will be the difference between winning or losing, but assuming he does a bit more in this game, Pitt's chances of winning will be significantly better.
I won't be around for the live thread tonight, but stop in and comment during the game.
