After a very slow start to recruiting, things seem to be picking up quickly. Jalen Williams made the call last week. Adam Bertke made the call earlier today, and now Dennis Briggs has made his college decision and becomes Pitt's fourth commitment to the 2014 recruiting class:

He was initially pretty glad to get the Pitt offer saying this shortly after getting it:
“It’s one of the things I’ve been waiting for since I’ve been a freshman…. I didn’t even expect them to come today; I’m still on cloud nine. Its surreal to me, it means everything to answer your question, it’s a blessing.”
Briggs is a 5-11 190 pound athlete from Shady Side Academy in Pittsburgh. He chose Pitt over his only other division one offers, Buffalo and Toledo. Briggs is not rated with any stars on any of the major recruiting websites. Despite the low recruitment, he appears to have solid speed and vision as a running back. He could simply be a victim of playing for an average AA school.
Either way, it's nice to see the recruiting take a step forward in recent days. Pitt has nailed down three players over the past five days, and it appears more could be on the way as soon as tomorrow. Stay tuned for more Pitt recruiting action.
