An hour and a half after the first "Pat Signal", Coach Narduzzi strikes again for his second recruit of the night, this time it is Shawn Curtis of Miami, Florida. Curtis is listed as a 6'3"  247 pound inside linebacker from Ronald Reagan/Doral Senior High. Curtis checks in as a three-star player on 24/7, a two-star on Rivals, and ESPN does not list him with any stars. Despite Curtis' lower ratings he has reported offers from Duke, Illinois, Mississippi State, and Wisconsin.

Shawn Curtis has the potential to play either linebacker spot for the Panthers, and he is even big enough to make the move to defensive end.  Either way, Curtis becomes the second player to commit to Pitt from the state of Florida, joining Malik Henderson. Curtis also joins Kevin Givens as the only other linebackers in the current twelve man recruiting class.

Signing day is in two weeks, so expect news to fly in like this on a regular basis these next 14 days. Pat Narduzzi and his staff have been aggressive in identifying new prospects while trying to sway some of recruits targeted by the old regime. Narduzzi has been able to haul in a pair of long time targets, and he has Pitt in the running for a few more. Stay tuned.
