Cardiac Hill Poll of the Day: Should Pitt allow Cam Johnson to play at North Carolina Immediately?

Charles LeClaire-USA TODAY Sports

For today's poll, I wanted to ask a question about a subject we've discussed at great length for the past week or so - the transfer situation of basketball player Cam Johnson.

The issue, of course, isn't if Pitt will allow him to transfer to North Carolina. Johnson is free to go wherever he pleases. The real issue is if he should immediately be able to play for a conference foe starting next season. While most schools place some restrictions on transfers for things such as out of conference opponents, other teams they will play, etc., Pitt has drawn the ire of the national media, which has largely come down on the side of transfers without any type of restrictions.

There certainly is precedent for schools allowing players to transfer immediately, even within a conference. By and large, however, the majority of transfers come with some sort of restrictions.

Where do you stand on the issue? Should schools allow players to transfer anywhere at any time?
