Opponent: Syracuse

Conference: ACC

Current Record: 12-5 (3-1)

Last Game: Jan. 14 95-91 W @Duke

2017 Season: 23-14 (8-10) 8th

Key Losses: None. They lost Geno Thorpe. Everybody remember Geno Thorpe?

Key Players: G Tyus Battle (18.0 ppg, 3.1 rpg), F Elijah Hughes (15.3 ppg, 4.8 rpg), F Oshae Brissett (13.9 ppg, 8.1 rpg)

As always, Syracuse has a roster full of 4 star recruits who play a 2-3 zone and will inevitably do nothing in the pros. This year’s version is led by future NBA bust Tyus Battle.

Last Meeting: Jan 27, 2018 Pitt 55 Syracuse 60

What we said in the recap: “You’d see these kind of efforts every once in a while under Jamie Dixon. Typically, the fanbase would go into a firestorm when it happened. But Pitt has now failed to get out of the 50s eight times this season.”

Prediction: Jeff Capel finds Dixon’s “How to beat the 2-3 zone” scroll hidden in a bottle in his office somewhere. Pitt wins 75-70.

Hail to Pitt.
