After the hire of Mark Whipple, Pitt fans were waiting for Narduzzi to plug the last hole in his staff with the wide receivers coaching position. Per reports from Chris Peak over at Panther-Lair, Narduzzi has made a nice hire to fill the open role.
Breaking: Pat Narduzzi is set to add former Maryland WR coach Chris Beatty to #Pitt's coaching staff. FREE ARTICLE https://t.co/qWTZossnDB

Beatty spent the last two seasons at Maryland. Since 2008, this is Beatty’s 6th different Power 5 job as a wide receivers coach or some type of co-offensiver coordinator position. In addition to Maryland, Beatty has spent time at Virginia, Wisconsin, Illinois, Vanderbilt and West Virginia.
Beatty has had a hand in the development of some pretty good players, and was known to be a great recruiting asset at Maryland. There are of course concerns with Beatty after what happened with the Maryland staff during the summer with the death of Jordan McNair, but I have confidence that Pitt fully vetted his involvement and didn’t find anything concerning. Pitt and especially its leadership are very sensitive to the school’s image.
Beatty has hopped around a lot, but his experience and the players that have excelled under him say a lot. This is about as best of hire as one could expect Pat Narduzzi to make.
