After earning their first ACC win a few weeks ago , the Lady Panthers earned their first road ACC win since against Wake Forest
After falling behind by 8 at the end of the first quarter, Pitt went on an 11-2 run to take the lead. Danielle Garven had 10 at the end of the half with Pitt down 1. Jasmine Whitney had 6 points and 6 assists as well.
Pitt and Wake Forest traded the lead back and forth through the 3rd quarter with Pitt leading 51-47. Pitt held on to win 70-64 behind 21 points from Garven along with a double double from Whitney with 19 points and 11 assists to go with 6 rebounds and 2 steals.
Wake Forest was tied with Pitt coming into this game for last place in the league with 1 ACC win, so Pitt winning isn’t a huge upset. Garven has now lead Pitt in scoring the last 6 games, and this was Whitney’s second straight 15+ point game. While Garven is a senior, Whitney is still a junior so to see her start to develop a bit as the season ends is welcome news.
Pitt’s last ACC regular season game is Saturday against #3 Louisville
