Each spring and summer, Pitt holds sports camps for just about everything from basketball to football to baseball. The camps are open to kids to attend, learn techniques, and build relationships.

Not unexpectedly, Pitt recently announced the cancellations of campus set to take place in May and June due to the coronavirus. Given where things stand right now across the country with shelter in place rules in effect, those cancellations made sense.

For now, Pitt is planning to proceed with camps scheduled in July and August. That, of course could change, but for now, the school is not canceling those.

The school’s official statement includes the following:

Due to COVID-19 and the health and safety of our campers being a top priority, we have decided to cancel all May and June camps. Additionally, all residential camps have been cancelled for the entire summer. The July and August camps that are listed on our Pitt Sports Camps websites are still scheduled to occur.

The camps are typically led by coaches with participation from student athletes. Here’s more details on the camps available for each sport/activity.
