The Pitt men’s basketball program announced on Wednesday that its game at Boston College originally scheduled for Saturday at 6 p.m. ET had been postponed and replaced with a trip to Wake Forest, which was moved up from Feb. 7.
The postponement followed a positive COVID-19 test within the Boston College program, which also saw the Eagles cancel their game with the 16th-ranked Virginia Tech Hokies on Wednesday. Given that development, the shift in schedule for Pitt was expected, and the fact that the timing of the postponement allowed the team to move its visit to Winston-Salem up was an unanticipated positive outcome.
The sudden change in opponent should not burden Pitt too much, as Boston College is the second-worst team in the ACC at the moment, with a 3-10 record and 1-6 mark in conference, but Wake Forest is dead last at 3-5 overall, with a 0-5 ACC record. With that said, the Eagles have the worst home record in the ACC, as they are 2-3 at the Conte Forum, while the Demon Deacons are 3-2 at LJVM Coliseum.
Pitt and Wake Forest will tip off from LJVM Coliseum at 6 p.m. ET on Saturday, and the matchup will air on the ACC Network.
