(Don’t) Bet the Farm: Pitt vs Georgia Tech

NCAA Football: New Hampshire at Pittsburgh Charles LeClaire-USA TODAY Sports

This week, Pitt heads to Atlanta to open its ACC conference schedule against Georgia Tech. Georgia Tech had a big win last week against North Carolina, dropped 45 points on the Tar Heels.

While I think everyone feels a little better about Pitt after they dropped 77 points last week, it did come against an FCS foe, and Pitt’s schedule starts in earnest now. Pitt has yet to play a single ACC game yet and is favored by some metrics to win the Coastal, which is frankly amazing and a statement on the state of the conference. Pitt controls its own destiny entirely. That statement will likely terrify any experienced Pitt fan.

Georgia Tech QB Jeff Sims had a huge running game versus North Carolina, getting more yards and TDs on the ground than he did through the air. The key to the game will probably be if Pitt can contain that run game or not.

For the first time this season, our staff is not unanimous. Who do you got?
