Former Panther, Mick Williams, was part of a good defensive line at Pitt last season. Even though he was undrafted this year, it was hoped he would stick somewhere. Mick was signed by the Bears and Jets this offseason, but was unable to stick with either team.
Now, out of football for the time being, Williams has a warrant out for his arrest.
Mick was charged with disorderly conduct and failing to disperse with a group of people back in an early morning incident in October. That might not sound so bad, but in shades of Levance Fields reportedly trying to disarm a police officer, Williams, according to the Donora police, then took a swing at an officer.
A warrant went out for his arrest after he failed to appear in court for a preliminary hearing.
Williams clearly had talent, but it's not all that surprising he didn't stick in the pros. There are just too many great players in the NFL. But I wouldn't be surprised to see Mick get another shot down the line, so here's hoping things turn out well for him. This has turned into a pretty serious thing that started with something as relatively minor as disturbing the peace.
