College Basketball Rankings: Pitt Moves Up To Third In Both Polls

The new polls are out and Pitt moved up to third in both polls after losses this past week by BYU and Duke. The Panthers didn't get any first-place votes (Ohio State and Kansas were the only two teams to collect them) but that isn't really a surprise, and at this point, it really doesn't matter.

There was plenty of other movement in the polls as well.

Notre Dame also moved up to fourth in both polls, giving the Big East two of the top four spots. Other Big East teams ranked in either poll are Syracuse, Louisville, St. John's, Connecticut, Georgetown, West Virginia, and Cincinnati. After losing their last four games, Villanova was unranked. Unfortunately for Pitt, the Wildcats' free fall makes those two wins a little less meaningless as the selection committee looks to give out No. 1 seeds.

The top five in both polls:

1. Ohio State Buckeyes

2. Kansas Jayhawks

3. Pittsburgh Panthers

4. Notre Dame Fighting Irish

5. Duke Blue Devils

Here is the full top 25 for each poll.
