Pitt Football Recruiting: Panthers Add Surprise Wide Receiver Josh Brinson To 2011 Class

Todd Graham added another late recruit to Pitt's 2011 class - JUCO wide receiver Josh Brinson. Brinson was UAB-bound in 2008, but ran into a string of misfortune beginning in his senior year in prep school.

But now, he's Pittsburgh bound.

First, Brinson suffered a mostly season ending injury in 2007, his senior year. The injury occured in his first game and kept him out of action until the playoffs.

That could have cost him a few offers, but Brinson was still headed to UAB to play Division I football. Unfortunately, he didn't qualify academically and was headed to JUCO.

Brinson led his JUCO team with 37 catches for 498 yards and three touchdowns last season and apparently didn't take long to make his decision to come to Pitt after making a visit over the weekend:

Junior college wide receiver Josh Brinson didn't waste any time accepting Pitt's scholarship offer.

Asked how long he considered the offer last weekend during his visit to the university, Brinson said, "Less than a second. I already had my mind made up."

Brinson wasn't highly recruited the first time around and according to Rivals, only had one other offer - Kent State. Both Rivals and Scout rated him as a two-star recruit. ESPN.com had no rating on him.

Doesn't sound like a great find initially, but an added bonus to the recruiting season.
