We all know that Pitt's non-conference schedule has ranked right up there in recent years. Ever since Jamie Dixon and the Panthers felt slighted at some lower-than-expected seeds, Pitt has done an amazing job in playing some tough non-con games in recent memory including Duke, Texas, Tennessee, Wisconsin, and Maryland to name a few.

Joe Lunardi of ESPN.com has a look at just where Pitt ranks over the past four seasons.

The article by Lunardi is actually more about who are the worst schedulers and he adds a chart at the end of the best ones. Lunardi says Pitt comes in at tied for tenth overall.

It was interesting to me that the top ten list featured virtually a Who's Who of basketball. Duke, UConn, Syracuse, Michigan State, and Georgetown all also made the list. It's a lot different than in football, obviously, since one loss doesn't kill you. But it's pretty telling that the best teams in basketball are also some of the toughest schedulers.
