Pitt holds Blue-Gold scrimmage; Steven Adams has solid debut

David Butler II-US PRESSWIRE - Presswire

I made it out for Midnight Madness and surprisingly stuck around for a good chunk of it despite a wife that was ready to leave before it started and a bit of a chilly night. However, I was out for the Blue-Gold scrimmage over the weekend. Nevertheless, several players had good games.

Among them was freshman phenom Steven Adams, according to the Trib-Review:

Adams recorded the only double-double, scoring 14 points and grabbing 11 rebounds. He looked comfortable catching the ball in the post and passing it from inside, and he made baskets with each hand while shooting 7 of 11 from the field.

Adams' Blue team also won the game.

Also having solid showings were Talib Zanna, who had a game-high 20 points on 7-7 shooting. Tray Woodall had a team-high 16 points and Lamar Patterson chipped in with 15.

Be sure to check out the Trib's article. It uses the word sinewy. Pitt's official athletics website also has some interviews from the event with Jamie Dixon and several players.
