College Basketball Rankings: Preseason 2012-13 Coaches Poll Released

Jim O'Connor-US PRESSWIRE

The 2012-13 preseason college basketball coaches' poll was released last week - you can check it out below, courtesy of ESPN.

Pitt didn't make the cut, but they did get a bit of recognition as some coaches felt they belonged. The Panthers picked up a total of nine points in the poll's 'Other Receiving Votes' category. That tied them for 34th among all D-1 teams.

I'm not surprised Pitt got a few votes. Personally, I'm taking a bit of a wait-and-see approach with this team. I definitely think they'll be better than last year and I also believe they can get into the rankings at some point. But this team is still featuring some new players in key areas and I want to see how they gel on the court before buying in.
