On Monday night, Pitt got a commitment from Wyndmoor (PA.) punter Ryan Winslow. The coaches saw film of Winslow, liked what they saw, and invited him out to camp last week, where Winslow received an offer from OL coach Jim Hueber. Winslow called Paul Chryst on Monday night to tell him of his commitment.
Winslow doesn't appear to have any offers outside of Pitt, but he did camp at Boston College, Northwestern, Ohio State, and Penn State. He will be able to get playing time early on at Pitt. Right now, Pitt's current punter is junior Matt Yoklic. By the time Winslow arrives, he will be able to either come in right away any play in year 1 or redshirt and have 4 full years to be the starter. Either way, he's going to see the field for a few years. Winslow also has some experience at kicker, but will likely stick to punting while at Pitt.
Here is a highlight video of Pitt's newest commit (Thanks Chris Peak of Pantherlair for finding this). Welcome to Pitt, Ryan Winslow!
