I meant to get this primer out a bit earlier, but late is better than never.
So, you've noticed Cardiac Hill's changed, right? We get it - we're not all comfortable with change. In reading the comments throughout SB Nation, I've seen a wide range of feelings, so I'm not going to tell you that 'ZOMG, this is the best thing ever' and to just accept it. That approach has been used and, in my opinion, is a pretty crappy way to treat loyal readers. Many of you probably have concerns about the new layout and I wanted to reach out to you with some info.
First, if you're using Internet Explorer, you're out of luck as far as seeing a functional site right now. Now, I'm told the SB Nation folks are working to make the site compatible with IE, but to be honest, I don't know when that will happen. About the only thing I can tell you is, 'stay tuned.' Most things work in the browser, but it just doesn't look all that great. Internet Explorer, so I'm told, isn't used by a large number of our readers and the site really isn't viewed well using it. However, I've seen a lot of comments about the issue and I've made it perfectly clear to a few management type folks here that supporting IE is extremely important since it's still one of the most-used browsers out there. If you have the ability of downloading Firefox or Google Chrome, that's the best way to go, but we're aware that not everyone has that option. I use Firefox and haven't had any issues.
The best advice I have for you is that if you're stuck using IE and have no other real option, please let your feelings be known to the good folks at email@example.com. The more they know about readers with this issue, the better the chance exists that it will be changed.
Okay, with that out of the way - if you've got constructive criticism and not something along the lines of 'This sucks, I'm so done coming here', please send it along to firstname.lastname@example.org. The folks at SB Nation are monitoring comments and want to modify things if necessary. The goal here is to make the sites as user-friendly as possible. If your comment really is 'This sucks, I'm so done coming here', that's fine, and I still welcome you to comment. Just no need to email them about it. Instead, reply in this thread and hopefully we can address your concerns. Let us know why you're not happy and be as specific as possible.
Also, if you've discovered bugs or something just isn't working right, please also send it to email@example.com.
Trust me, no one really likes change. I know I don't. But sometimes it's for the better and I'm pretty confident that once things get smoothed out a bit, this change will be for the better. The site has many cool features and right now it's just a matter of finding out how to best utilize them. In the meantime, if you have questions, etc., please leave them in this thread.
Thanks, as always, for dropping by.
