Pitt baseball season finale to be televised on ESPNU

Ronald Martinez

Yeah, we get it. Baseball is a pretty distant third (or further) on the pecking order for most of you behind football and men's basketball. But Pitt has had some success in recent memory, so it's worth mentioning the team's final Big East game will televised on ESPNU on May 18th at noon. It's also on a Saturday, so you've got no reason not to tune in.

That game will be against Louisville, the 2012 Big East champs.

About some of that success I mentioned - Pitt has some players in the minors right now that did pretty well last season. That includes former quarterback turned baseball player Kevan Smith, who was All-Conference. They had six players drafted in 2011 and heading into that season, they were even ranked No. 30 in the preseason.

The team took a step back last year, but Pitt's baseball program has been taking a big step forward in recent years. And that's a great thing as they head to the ACC next season.
