Pitt vs. DePaul: Open Gamethread

Charles LeClaire-USA TODAY Sports

So Pitt goes for their fourth straight win today. Talk all you want about the quality of teams they've beaten over that stretch, but any four-game winning streak in-conference is worthy or recognition. If the Panthers win, the team will have victories over DePaul, Providence, Villanova, and UConn. Only one of those teams, UConn, can probably be considered a quality one this season. But after the loss to Rutgers and the narrow misses against Cincinnati and Marquette, there were a ton of questions about this team. Now, they at least have the look of at least a minor threat in the Big East.

But let's not get too far ahead of ourselves. Pitt can't afford a letdown today against DePaul and with Louisville and Syracuse on the horizon, this one has all the makings of a trap game. This is a win the team absolutely has to have. A win against Louisville or Syracuse would be nice. Mandatory? Nope. But this one is a must-have for Pitt.
