Could Pitt add 2013 quarterback and Boston College commit Tim Boyle to class?

UPDATE (2/4): Per BC Interruption, Boyle has committed to UConn instead of Pitt

Pitt's 2013 class is winding down, but according to SB Nation blog BC Interruption, the Panthers could be adding one of Boston College's prized recruits - quarterback Tim Boyle.

The story is a typical one. Boyle committed to Boston College, who has since added some other quarterbacks. He's now decided to at least look around and Pitt is apparently one of his options as well as UConn.

As I wrote recently, the Panthers are actually pretty stacked at quarterback. If playing time is important to him (and let's be honest, it's important to just about everybody), I have a hard time believing he'd want to come to Pitt. He almost certainly wouldn't be able to compete for the job this year and in 2014, he'd be trying to beat out two highly-coveted quarterbacks in Chad Voytik and Tra'Von Chapman. Not only that, but if Chandler Kincade sticks around, he'd be there as well.

It's not as if Boyle is a low-rated guy. Both Rivals and Scout say he's a three-star quarterback and the former says he's the 25th best quarterback in the country. Still, he'd just be facing a lot of competition.

I don't see him ending up here, but that said, it's something to keep an eye on this week.
