Last week, Pitt jumped into the top ten of the NCAA's wrestling rankings on the heels of defeating fifth-ranked Oklahoma State.

On Friday, Virginia came to town and the Panthers scored a huge 25-9 win over the 13th ranked Cavaliers. For that, Pitt's wrestling squad got another small bump up in the rankings, rising to No. 7 this week. Missouri, the previous No. 7, dropped three spots to No. 10, despite a 31-0 win over Northern Illinois.

The wrestling team continues to rise and as I pointed out before, their sole loss is to No. 1 Penn State. It's really hard not to get excited about what they're doing and if they continue winning, this could be a top five team pretty soon. That's especially true considering they still have meets left against two more ranked programs - Michigan and Edinboro.

This week, the Panthers take on 9-3 West Virginia on the road.
