King of the Hill: Cardiac Hill ACC Football Power Rankings (Preseason)

Melina Vastola-USA TODAY Sports

With the season underway, it's time to unleash weekly power rankings again. Pitt has been picked by most to finish in the lower half of the conference. Here are my early rankings for the preseason before anyone plays a game.

I don't know that Clemson is the best team in the conference right now, but with their game against Florida State at home this season, I would probably pick them to win the ACC (in a pick sure to go wrong) if you twisted my arm, so I've got them up at the top.

Most of the picks are really just throwing things at the wall to see what sticks. The top four are expected to be solid, but beyond that, things are a bit of a mess. Pitt could reasonably be slotted anywhere from 5th - 10th, in my opinion, and you could probably say that about several of the other teams in that group as well. I also don't see much from the bottom four. To me, you've got a decent consensus on the top four and bottom four (without knowing the order, of course) and the middle six are all huge unknowns.

As always, let me know what I got right/wrong.

1. Clemson
