Pitt vs. Iowa: Open Gamethread

Charles LeClaire-USA TODAY Sports

It's game day, er, night. For the second week in a row, the Panthers will play a night game and this one is against the Iowa Hawkeyes.

As we've covered this week, Pitt should be thoroughly tested by Iowa. The team has a capable quarterback, a strong running game, and a stout rushing defense. To make matters worse, playing the game on the road in prime time will make things even more difficult.

I wouldn't rule the Panthers out of this game, though. Outside of some fourth-quarter breakdowns against Youngstown State, the defense has played very well so far. Last weekend against Akron, they nearly pitched a shutout. Pitt doesn't have James Conner, but does have some quality running backs that can make plays. And with Tyler Boyd in the passing game, well, anything is possible.

Game time is at 8:00 p.m. Leave your pre-game comments below then come back and join us to comment live during the game.
